What a tangled web 2008 has been!!
Submitted by Michele Williams on Mon, 2008-07-07 10:53.Hello all! This is my first blog entry and I hope to keep up with things better than I tend to. I am usually running around somewhere, working or playing golf.
I had great plans for this year! Lots of tourneys, lots of travel to explore new courses, and finally mastering the flick. Well, things started off pretty well, with a 3rd place win at Texas Women's Championships in April.
08!
Submitted by Angela Tschiggfrie on Tue, 2008-07-01 05:54.Hey everyone! Competition this year is going really well for me! I have won 5 of 7 events so far, 3 of them were A tier Super Tours! My plan was to go on tour for 2 months this summer, but plans have changed. We'll see how it works out! I am looking forward to Brent Hambrick NT in Ohio in a couple weeks, and also the Vibram Open NT at the end of July. Worlds in Michigan will be a great time too!

Disc 'n Dat Bluegrass Open
Submitted by Avery Jenkins on Sat, 2008-05-10 16:22.On our travels back to the East after the Big D in the Desert, Val and I played back to back tournaments in Kentucky. The second event being the Disc 'n Dat Bluegrass Open, one of my favorites due to the courses and the travel vicinity to my parents home in Ohio, an annual tournament that I used to play every year when I lived back home. It is also great to see some old friends that I have not seen in years, great time to catch up on some past DG stories.

Big D in the Desert VIII - Event Update
Submitted by Avery Jenkins on Wed, 2008-04-16 19:28.So the Big D in the Desert distance event was more then expected. Val and I arrived early into Primm, Nevada on Thursday afternoon along with Cary Trotter and Andrew Rich, whom drove 19 hours the day before just to make it down to the event. We drove out to the dry lake flats to get in some early throws and practice our distance technique. We were soon joined by the current world distance record holder Christian Sandstrom from Sweden who arrived early as well in order to get adapted to the desert wind conditions.
Big D in the Desert VIII
Submitted by Avery Jenkins on Mon, 2008-03-31 23:27.The season is now in full swing, we have played 3 tournaments thus far this year. Including a 7th Place at the Gentleman's Club Challenge in Las Vagas, a 12th Place finish at The Memorial National Tour Event in Phoenix, AZ and a 2nd Place at the Aloha Sushi Classic in Walla Walla, Washington. I shot some amazing rounds, including a hot round to start the year off in Vegas and my career best round of 1088 the last round in Phoenix.
A great start to a promising season!
Submitted by Dave Feldberg on Fri, 2008-03-28 18:55.The off-season was very short and exhausting. I began teaching Disc Golf 199 at the University of Oregon for the winter term. I had twenty-five students and I learned that teaching was much harder than I had anticipated. I will be teaching again in the spring with sixty students in Disc Golf 1 and 2.
Winter Warmth Tour 2008 - Chris Sprague
Submitted by Chris Sprague on Fri, 2008-03-14 14:16.The Winter Warmth Tour is in my opinion the best stretch of the year, your fresh and excited for the season and the weather is summer like! I'm talking about the South West; Pasadena, Monterey, Vegas, Phoenix, Long Beach (and in years past Arcata, CA Bigfoot and Orangevale St Pats) I hit the road on Feb. 11th and will fly back on March 17th. Can't wait to get back home! I can't imagine trying to pull off 8 months straight like 2006. It's a MOUNTAIN of a journey!!
