We have a club with fresh new members taking the reigns and they get it done!

Winter Warmth Tour 2008 - Chris Sprague

The Winter Warmth Tour is in my opinion the best stretch of the year, your fresh and excited for the season and the weather is summer like! I'm talking about the South West; Pasadena, Monterey, Vegas, Phoenix, Long Beach (and in years past Arcata, CA Bigfoot and Orangevale St Pats) I hit the road on Feb. 11th and will fly back on March 17th. Can't wait to get back home! I can't imagine trying to pull off 8 months straight like 2006. It's a MOUNTAIN of a journey!!

Chris Sprague - Winter Sets In

Just an update on the end of the season chill that sets in...

Recently I've been working on the newest course in Milan, IL.  Camden II will be one the courses played at the 2009 Women's National Championships in the Quad Cities (Davenport, IA * Rock Island, IL * Bettendorf, IA * Moline, IL)

Paul Roesner a local club workhorse asked me to walk the original design w/modifications going back 8 years, the only problem was it was a single 18 hole loop on what was to be a huge course.  I made a case for redesign changing it to a 9/9 8/10 7/11 double loop to get people back to their cars and the restrooms.  With only 2 weeks until the city was set to start, Paul turned me lose in the woods for what would become a 70hour ordeal.

Thanks to all of the Oregon Disc Golfers - Chris Sprague

I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone I had the pleasure of getting to know, and to all of the players who supported me during my stay in Oregon!  I have truly fallen in love with this region of the country!  Rock Hounding, disc golf, outdoor adventure, and the beer and stuff...It's a truly unique part of the country, and I found the people to be fun and friendly!

Again thanks for your support, without the 29 person field in Open at the Umbrella Open 2006 in Oregon, I may not have won the 2006 National Points Title.  This title was symbolic of the 11 months I spent traveling (8 months straight on the road), I came to understand all of the Rock-N-Roll songs about road travels during this journey.  The road  wears on both cars and people, but with the support of friends like mine in Oregon, I was able to pull off a life long dream and major accomplishment!

MSDGC 2007 - Chris Sprague

Heading out tomorrow for Mass. to defend my MSDGC title!  I'm feeling very healthy and confident coming off of a strong week at the World Championships.
Thanks to all the players who came out to follow or watched and supported from home, I really appreciate it!!

No tournament has captured my attention like the MSDGC since my first trip to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and the Memorial down in Arizona.  The combination of Professionalism, FUN, and function has been perfected by the outstanding organization behind Marshall Street!  I truly look foreward to this event like I do the USDGC and the Memorial, thank you!

Huk Art on E-Bay (Chris Sprague)

Just letting everyone know that I'v listed a new art piece on E-Bay!  Champion Wraith w/ a Psychedelic Nude Goddess of Disc Golf.  It's on a 10 day auction ending on 8/24/07. No picture posted here due to adult content - check it out on E-Bay!  It's looks pretty hot on my wall right now!

Thanks for checking out my work, I've received alot of positive feedback from people who found  my art because of the Huk Lab site!  Thanks again for your support!

I have a coaching session at the MSDGC for a Mass. player who had the winning bid for one of my discs! Again I consider all purchases of my art to be a level of sponsorship and offer free coaching sessions in return (If I'm in your area, and have time available - which I usually do)

Huk Art on E-Bay (Chris Sprague)

Just letting everyone know that I've listed several of my art pieces on E-Bay in an effort to help out with my Worlds and Marshall Street expenses. With any luck I'll have a very successful showing at both events, but there are no guarantees.

Search under Disc Golf Dyed Firebird for the 4 listings.

I consider any purchase of my art to be a level of sponsorship, and as a bonus I will make myself available for a quick private disc golf lesson (if I'm in your area or at a tournament your attending). If your not lucky enough to win the bidding, I thank you anyway for your support!

AM Worlds 2007

Our fearless Huk Leader is out here in the midwest mounting an impressive finish to the 2007 AM Worlds in Milwaukee, WI!  Jay Harbour has shot three straight rounds above his player rating!
~Your only 8 strokes back Jay, Keep it going!!!!~
Congrats to Iowan Alan Wagner!  He's currently tied for 1st going into the semi-Finals!  Wow, another huge showing for the Iowa UP-N-COMERS!!!!!!!
Now off to practice for my Worlds run!!

Brent Hambrick Clinic

Des and Yeti have been working with the PDGA to start a National Tour Clinic program, and it looks as though it's starting to take hold. Fellow hucksters Avery Jenkins (forehand) and Dave Feldberg (throwing farther) preached their craft, while Des handled the approach game, and Kim Scott-Wood took care of putting. I guess they did it in a tag team style coaching method, with 50+ casual players in attendence! Nice

I've always felt that the best way a "Professional" player can give back, is to help other players realize their potential and promote the sport from the grass roots.

Midwest Disc Golf Scene!

Sounds like my kind of fun Robbie! Keep it going and make the most of the journey! It's kind of a dream vacation if you remember to take full advantage of the trip!

I've taken a little break from traveling, and have settled into the Quad Cities on the Illinois side of the Mississippi. It's only a two and a half hour drive to Des Moines, Iowa to see my family, so I feel right at home!

I've continuued to play tournaments, but I've had to limit it to a 6hour window, and I'm really enjoying it. As it turns out the Midwest golf scene is starting to take hold, the strong Amateurs have joined the Open division ranks, and the Ams from a couple years back are cashing and winning tournaments ( Adam Olsen, Chase Roberts, Alan Wagner, Mike Robinson). It's fun helping those guys take it to the next level!
