What a tangled web 2008 has been!!
What a tangled web 2008 has been!!

Hello all! This is my first blog entry and I hope to keep up with things better than I tend to. I am usually running around somewhere, working or playing golf.

I had great plans for this year! Lots of tourneys, lots of travel to explore new courses, and finally mastering the flick. Well, things started off pretty well, with a 3rd place win at Texas Women's Championships in April.

My next tournament was the Capital of Texas Open in May. I was in second place going into the Final Round (I had an AWESOME third round moments before). On the first hole, I injured my back. I continued to try to play, but by hole 3, I knew that there was no way that I could finish the round and still be able to play this season. So I bowed out, talked to the TD and went home. I got 4th because of that. I was very disappointed and in alot of pain.

Because of my injury, I had to miss many of the tournaments that I had planned to go to. In fact, I have only started playing again in the last week. But I am feeling good and my back is holding up.

I was feeling so good that I decided to go ahead and play the Live Oak Summer Open this past weekend. After the first 2 rounds, I had a dominating 11 stroke lead. Then came the 3rd round. We were at the Universal City course and I birdied the first hole. The next like 10 holes were in the trees, and I hit every single one of them! My wood magnatism coupled with the other ladies on my card having a nearly lights out round, I lost my lead, yes, all 11 strokes, and was going into the final round tied for first. I shook it off and decided that now we were on even ground and now we had a real game!

An already long story short, I played a very consistant last round and took first by 12 strokes.

After the round, I started talking to some of the pros, especially the ones that have gone pro just this year and they have only played a couple of tourneys in that division. They said that I should probably move up. I have been planning on moving up next year, but maybe I will play in the open division the next couple of tournaments, just to see.

Lots of things happening for me this summer, so I am not quite sure when my next tournament will be, but I will try to keep my blog updated.
