The Summer Tour is well on its way..
The Summer Tour is well on its way..

Its been a great couple of months on the road..

Starting in May i won my first National Tour in Los Angeles and to top it off i finally turned 21! It was a great tournament! Surrounded by great friends and celebrated to the max!

We then traveled up to Grass Valley to play Motherlode.. The strong womens division consisted of only Burl, Kathy Manley, and I.. but as usual it was a battle until the end. Burl and I tied, but Burl pulled out strong in the Rock Paper Scissors and got the points for the tourney.

Next stop was Masters Cup in Santa Cruz. I love coming here every year. You've got the great DeLa course, the beach, and Tacos Moreno! What more could you ask for? We camped out at the Hardings house, and had a blast every night. They ended up housing about 10 people for the weekend, definately the place to be that weekend. I struggled with my putting but i kept my mental game together, and tried to maintain. When playing at DeLa you can have all the skill in the world, but when it comes down to the cliffs, roots, and elevation much luck is needed. You DO NOT want to get DeLa-ed. I had some trouble during my last few holes of the tournament and ended up taking 4th.

We packed up the Spirit to head up to Oregon, and Matt Orum, Myles Harding, and Gregg Barsby jumped along for the ride. It was a long trip, but the boys made it pretty interesting. We stopped to play a couple holes at the Redwood Curtain in Humbolt, and camped the night along the coast. We made it up to Eugene the next day, and spent the night at Avery and Daves house before heading up to Portland.

We arrived to what i believe is the most beautiful course out there. If you haven't made it out to Oregon to play in the Beaver State Fling. I HIGHLY reccomend it. The holes and the maintence of the course is the of the highest caliber. The park and the holes were designed to make a ball golf course so the fairways are lush and long. Its a great design that incorporates every shot in your bag.

I ended up playing pretty solid for the weekend and racked up another NT win. But the highlight of the weekend was my near 300ft field ace on the 1000ft hole. My TL flipped up just perfectly to weave throw the trees guarding the basket and slammed into the hole! and the coolest of it all Theo Pozzy caught it on tape!

Headed down to the Willits KOA Jam with Burl in the Spirit for the next weekend. Its a great hanging out tournament, with a course in the back of a KOA campground. Everyone camps there for the weekend so it makes for lots of great bonfire nights, and glow golf. I had too much fun during the nights, leaving not much energy for my golf game and ended up taking 2nd for the weekend. It was great to catch up with all the great people we met last year, and as usual had a great time down in Willits.

I hitched a ride in Magillas truck up to Eugene and stayed at Avery and Daves house for the next few weeks to see the boys walk the stage to accept their diplomas! Im very proud of both of them for finally graduating. Finally all the times theyd be studying and writing papers on tournament weekends are now over!! Way to do it boys!

The tour now heads back East in my neck of the woods..  next stop Kansas City..
