Region 7 Championship tournament was originally a regional qualifying
event for the states of North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska,
South Dakota and the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The Region 7
Championships are held in a different member state or province each year,
and was last held in South Dakota in 2003. Even though Region 7 is no
longer an official category in qualifying for World’s, the tournament has
been popular throughout the region. Last year Region 7 was held at Oak
Grove Park in Fargo, North Dakota and at Diamond X in Bozeman, Montana in
2006.
The 2008 Region 7 Championships “The Gold Rush” will be held at
Jackson Park in Rapid City. Jackson Park is recognized as one of the
premier courses in the region, and the Black Hills Disc Golf
Confederacy’s strong record of hosting quality events is the primary
reason that the 2008 Championships are coming to Rapid City. With
temporary expansion of the course to 25 holes and more than $1,500 added to
the pro purse BHDGC’s expectations of participation from the entire
region is high. To learn more about the tournament and to get registration
