hukMag 004.5

As the rays of light start to shrink into Winter's shadow and northern fairways disappear beneath blankets of snow, we bid farewell to another stellar year of disc golf across the globe. huk lab came into being to help build a vibrant disc golf culture both on and off of the course. We have been privileged this year to glimpse a beautifully burgeoning disc golf culture in several huck laboratories across North America. Thank you for supporting this great game of aim by taking a friend to course, playing catch with a kid, competing against friends and rivals, picking up trash, attending work parties, joining the PDGA, and purchasing disc golf gear. Each of you are contributing to the positive evolution of our sport. May all of your biggest dreams take flight in 2006 and to one and all…. happy huckin' this holiday season!

Tree buds burst and colour limbs, bees buzzz and birds flitter about while putters whirr by making cold metal chains ring to life in the warmth of the lengthening light of spring. The tournament season for disc golfers has begun again. As disc golf events are contested in huck laboratories around the nation and world, huk lab is excited to be in a position to add value to tournaments near and far through our sponsorship program. Here is an incomplete list of early season events we are proud to sponsor:

-Poison Ivy Open
-Atlanta Ice Bowl
-Portland Ice Bowl
-St. Patrick’s Classic

One World, one love? let's get together and huck allright!

Wow! Faster than the whirr of a disc flying by the disc golf season has moved from thawing fairways to dry tee boxes and sun scorched greens. As the summer season transitions to fall, discs are aloft everywhere. At the beach in Seaside, OR a few weekends ago, huk lab joined a double frisbee flingin' party as the 'Against the Grain' 4 on 4 Ultimate Tourney took place alongside the Oregon Freestyle Frisbee Championships. Layouts and laughs, spins and grins were the order of the day.

As we prepared this edition of hukMag we had one eye trained on the ProWorlds duel between Nate ?Natron' Doss and Ken ?the Champ' Climo. Many thanks to the PDGA and all of the volunteers for making it happen out there in PA, especially to those involved in bringing disc golf fans the live scoring which allowed all of us to connect with the event from afar.

Preface:
Welcome to the inaugural edition of the hukMag Disc Golf News and thank you for your patience in the past year. Each edition of the hukMag will include new information on huk lab Fly Gear products, some TourNotes from events near and far and cultural tidbits from the huck lifestyle. As always we appreciate any and all feedback on how we can create relevant content and products that allow disc golfers everywhere to identify with this great sport both on and off of the course.

First Tee:
Just like stepping to the first tee of a challenging disc golf course... there are endless possibilities for flight. What disc, angle, point in space, release, power, aim??? We're testing theories of disc flight in the laboratory where we love to huck plastic through time and space to a target that completes a small circle in our quest each day on the course. This inaugural edition of hukMag 001.5 is our First Tee. There are many possibilities and it is our goal to have fun, inform and spread some huk luv.
