LAB BIO:
On the Course:

Any pre-round rituals?
Play as many holes as time allows, most successful when warming up by myself, rarely attend player’s meetings, and prepare everything you will need for the competition the night before.

What has enabled you to achieve success in the sport?
Perseverance, practice, mentors, friends, sponsors, and luck.

How do you prepare for a tournament?
I play every hole for the tournament layout at least once before competition.  I try to eat healthy with lots of carbs.  And again, I prepare the night before so that my brain can stay focused on my game during the day of the competition.

Goals for 2007
Get in better physical shape, calm my emotions on the course, create new friendships, play better than any year before, and take a good look around and enjoy the lucky life of a professional disc golfer.

Pet peeves?
Single chain baskets, holes with no routes, attitude without talent, the average unawareness of the PDGA rulebook amongst professional players

Have you added any new throws over the off season?
I have tried to add an effective sidearm to my game this winter, but I would say that I would still have a hard time cashing in an amateur event if this was my only tee shot.  But, I have increased my distance to 350 ft.  I am just not as consistent with the accuracy as by backhand.  But, if you know me, you know that I will practice, practice, practice.

What’s in the bag?
Star T-Rex’s, Star Wraith, Star/KC T-Birds, Champion Edition Eagles, CE Flat-top Valkyrie, Nightshift Sidewinder, Champion Roadrunner, KC Roc: 10x and 11x, DX Roc, Star DX Rhyno, Aviar Putt and Approach, 10x KC Aviar.  All max weight.

Words of huck wisdom for new players?
Practice, but good practice.  I mean, throwing in fields by yourself, not one the course with your friends.  Listen to experienced players, but take their advice lightly as each player’s body is different.  Create your own personal form, only use top professional’s techniques and guidelines.  Throw beat up discs to learn turnover shots.  Finally, for every three guys you show this sport to, man up and ask a woman if she wants to play.  Then the sport won’t be so one-sided.  Good luck, as luck is a major factor in a sport where the object is to throw a round object.

Off the Course:

What do you do when you not out huckin’?
College, sports, movies, collectibles, traveling

Who are your role models?
Professors, relatives, my Grandpa Paul Feldberg

What motivates you?
When someone says you can’t do something, I am motivated to show them that anybody can accomplish great things.

Academic pursuits?
Bachelor’s Degree from University of Oregon in International Studies with a focus in East Asia Arts and Languages with a Minor in Business

Personal pursuits, dreams?
To continue on and gain a Master’s Degree, get married, have kids, buy a van, a dog, and my own disc golf course.

Life goals?

To create lasting relationships with the people that have come into my life and leave them with a piece of me, as they have done for me.  Not just being a user, but realizing how lucky my journey has been and to give back so that people’s future journeys can be even better than mine.
