About Pye Brook Park Disc Golf Course
We are located in Topsfield, Massachusetts, about 21 miles north of Boston. Pye Brook Park is on the site of an old quarry and later, Topsfield’s town landfill. Half of the park is surrounded by Pye Brook, a stream/swamp/wetlands area that eventually feeds into the Ipswich River. (I bet the decision to locate a dump in wetlands was determined before the term ‘wetlands’ was invented). The landfill was capped in 2002, and the park opened in 2003.
The course winds around the periphery of the park, making use of the elevation changes, water hazards, and what little woods were available. Since the primary function of the park is the athletic fields for town sports teams, and the wetlands placed so many restrictions on where we could locate holes, there weren’t many options on how to design the holes. The result is that the direction of the 18 holes point away from the other park users and their parking areas, and tries to incorporate as many of the hazards as available.
Circle R is our home and our favorite place to play disc golf. Our goal here is modest: to build the world's premier private 36-hole disc golf facility.
Set on 106 acres in the beautiful Texas hill country, Circle R features two championship 18-hole courses, pro shop/office, the Circular Productions warehouse, and staff housing. We're 45 minutes from Austin, 45 minutes from north San Antonio, 30 minutes from San Marcos, and just 12 minutes from Wimberley and Blanco.
Greens fee is just $5 to play all day.
What makes Circle R special, besides the two great layouts, is the beautiful property: the bottom course has more big trees than most Texas courses, and the top course features great views from the biggest hill in Texas disc golf. We also have a crystal clear creek, a waterfall, a crystal clear spring-fed pond (except when we're having a drought), and healthy grassy fairways. The serenity of the surroundings can help make even the worst round of golf an enjoyable experience.
Other features of Circle R:
* each course has three sets of tees, so you can play the course that fits your experience (or your courage)
* primitive camping is available, and we have plans to add permanent lodging
* Circle R is the first permanent facility to have the stainless steel DISCatcher basket with inner chains, the new state of the art in targets
* monthly one-day tournaments bring together tournament players of all skill levels
* annual events include the World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend and the Texas State Overall Championships (fall), which features disc golf, distance, maximum time aloft, freestyle, and double disc court
* both courses were designed, of course, by John Houc
Disc Golf at Bogus Basin

* Please help protect the environment and pack-in/pack-out your water, food and garbage. Lodges at the resort are NOT open to the general public during the summer.

The Golf Island Disc Park, located in Magic Lake Estates on North Pender Island, BC, features 27 holes. The front nine holes have the original tone poles while the middle and back nines have chain baskets, installed in 2004. The Pender Islands disc golf course winds its way over and around a rocky hill just to the north of Magic Lake. The location of the course, with its many trees and bumpy landscape, make for an exciting game and a wonderful walk in the woods.
Disc Golf is a rapidly growing international sport and due to the efforts of a number of dedicated volunteers a lovely course has evolved on Pender. The game's played much like traditional golf, except that players use golf discs (very much like Frisbees™, but generally slimmer) and insteads of greens with cups, there are chain baskets and tone poles. To learn more about how to play the game click here.
The Golf Island Disc Park was first 'roughed out' in 1982 by Alex Fraser, Dave Watson and Doug Keating. The second nine began in 1984 and by 1987 the initial course was completed, although improvements continue to this day. In 1985 the BC Provincial Disc Golf Tournament was held on Pender and in 2005 the Provincials return to the Golf Island Disc Park. In 1985 30 players from BC and Washington competed. In 2005 over 100 discers are expected to compete. Tournaments on Pender now attract players from BC, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, California and beyond.
The Golf Islands Disc Park is maintained by the Pender Islands Park Commission and the Pender Disc Golf Club volunteers. Numerous individuals, companies and organizations help by sponsoring equipment, improvements and events.
