The Atlanta Disc Golf Organization was founded in March of 1995. The founding 13 members were, Speedy Al Guerrero, Wesley Matthews, Richard Lindsey, Ed Rosen, Chris Warren, Paul Laperre, Kevin Misiak, Michael Greer, Robert Braun, Michael Houchin and Chris Byrnes. Since it's inception we have grown too over 100 members. For the past 6 years, the ADGO has hosted the Hotlanta Disc Golf Tournament, spring and fall club tournaments, and various charity ice bowl events. As an organization, we have pulled our resources together to sponsor and run championship tournaments while growing the sport. With your help, we can work with the parks departments of various counties and ensure disc golf will be in your community for years to come!
What is the FDGC?
It all started several years ago when a group from Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Easley started playing Frisbee golf in the church parking lot.
Then the disc golf course was installed at Timmons park in Greenville. Then began the drives to Greenville to play disc Golf.
Not too long ago Easley started to build the new recreation complex on Pope Field Road.
Brian Stone (club Pres.)and some of the group from Brushy Creek approached Easley City Council about installing a Disc Golf course in the unused wooded area behind the ball fields.
City Council liked the idea of the Disc Golf course but didn't have any money in this year's budget to install it. They told Brian if he could get the money he could use the land for the course.
So... in February 2002 the Foothills Disc Golf Club was formed.
The main thrust of the club for now is to get sponsors for the course and get the course installed. The city doesn't have money in the budget for this year and if we want a course now we have to find the money ourselves. We are looking for local businesses and club membership to help with the course. For every 30 members that join the club we can put in another hole.
Once the course is installed we will be holding tournaments within the club. Tournaments with other local clubs. Fund raising tournaments for local charities.

About Us
The MFA
The Minnesota Frisbee Association (MFA) is the oldest statewide disc club. Founded in 1975, one of our early movers and shakers was the former PDGA Commissioner, Jim Challas. Now entering its 24th year, our "Floater" is the longest continuously published club newsletter. Minnesota was home to the first serious commercial threat to the DGA polehole. These "saucer" baskets were invented by Ken Krengel in 1978. The saucer is a sealed hollow plastic or metal cone that looks like a toy top on steroids. Imagine this cone in place of the chain assembly and you have a saucer basket. Putting into a saucer is like trying to putt into an oversized mail slot. Moir Park and Hansen Park are the only metro courses with saucer baskets. All but a couple of the saucers at Hansen have been replaced with some of the old baskets from C.P. Adams.

I STARTED PHOTOGRAPHY IN 1993 but it wasn't until 8 years ago that it became a daily habit. I like working alone, I like being outside, I like exploring, I like thinking with both sides of the brain, and I like to see the tangible results of that process. Photography lets me do all of this, but of course the main reason I photograph is that I love it and it is what I am.
My photographic philosophy borrows from Winogrand and Siskind. Winogrand said he photographed things "to see what they looked like photographed." I find that happening to me constantly. I'll come to a subject and observe it, but somehow the interaction does not seem complete until I've photographed it, mostly out of pure curiosity about what it might look like as a photograph. I photograph a lot of moving objects, low-light subjects, and use infared film sometimes, all for the reason that my eye cannot show me what will be in the photo and the only way to find out is to release the shutter and it's usually a surprise and I like surprises. Life with surprises: good. Life without surprises: bad.
It was Siskind who best articulated the idea that a photograph could be something new and unique, an object existing in and of itself apart from the subject depicted. I couldn't agree more. My favorite photographs have almost nothing to do with where or when or what the original scene was. They transform the scene into a flat composition with its own magical order. Shooting black-and-white helps enforce the divorce from reality.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
1. Camera in hand always unless asleep in bed
2. Film is cheap
3. Reality is stronger than imagination
4. Form subjugates essence, yet requires it
5. Bystanders will quickly forget you, but a good photo lasts forever
6. Light should illuminate the subject matter but not be the subject matter.
6a. Don't fight light. You will always lose
7. Use right brain when shooting, left brain when looking over contact sheets. Paraphrased, this becomes...
8. Shoot first, ask questions later
Not that I am an advocate of total abstraction. I want to know what the subject matter is on some level. Otherwise I might as well be an expressionist
painter or something and I have no interest in that, so there's something in photography's integral connection to reality that attracts me. Yet I do not want the subject to interfere with the identity of the photograph. I want form to subjugate essence. The only counter-example I can think of is portraiture, in which the goal of the photograph is to reveal something about the subject, but I don't do many portraits so personally this is a nonfactor.Additionally, Blake's capable eye captured several shots out on Portland area disc golf courses that we utilized for several ad campaigns in Disc Golf World and disc golf mag.

The BDGA exists to look after the interests of disc golfers in Britain and to promote the growth of the sport. One of its primary tasks is the collection and dissemination of information. This is achieved by various means, including this website and the publication of a newsletter for members called InFlight Magazine.

Our official name is Southern California Disc Golf Association, Inc. We were founded in 1996 by John Ahart, Loren Price, Tim Selinske, and Larry Bell to promote the sport of disc golf in the Southern California region. Our primary mission is to bring the sport back to the prominence it once had, through a series of PDGA-sanctioned tournaments. Disc golfs' first permanent pole-hole course was established at Oak Grove Park, Pasadena — now known as Hahamongna Water Shed Park — and the PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) was formed shortly afterwards and now serves over 15,000 disc golfers worldwide.
- The purpose was to raise awareness by bringing PDGA benefits closer to home for the large contingent of disc golfers in the region that would have to travel to other regions in the country to compete for PDGA points. We are best described as a regional chapter of the PDGA and are supported by a combination of individual memberships, sponsors, merchandise, and tournament income. In 1998 we incorporated as a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation to ensure that our mission is perpetual and will be carried out by future generations of disc golfers.
- Other goals of the organization include expansion of new courses, maintaining existing courses, provide a network of communication and assistance for the public, player's, course pro's, vendor's, and manufacturer's involved in disc golf.
