Team Member Bio
Nate first saw Disc Golf played on a Local Public Access Show in Santa Cruz, CA in 1992. Soon after that he played his first round with his dad at Delaveaga Disc Golf Course. He was given his first golf disc, a Pink Roc, by Marty Hapner. In 1998 Nate travelled to his first Am Worlds in Appleton, WI with 'Steady" Ed Headrick, where he finished 7th in Juniors Under-16. The following year he went on to win the 1999 Junior World Championship in Kansas City.

As a high-schooler Nate was voted "Class Clown,” but also excelled in athletics. In addition to playing for the Knights of Soquel Disc Golf Team, he was a four year member of the Basketball Team, and under his leadership as Co-Team Captain in his senior year, the team posted an undefeated regular season. Nate turned pro at age 15 and played in his first USDGC in 2001, finishing T-50 with Juliana Korver. He graduated in 2003, but returned to Soquel to coach basketball from 2004-2009.

In 2003 Nate first hit the National Tour with Steve and Bamba Rico. He also studied Computer Technology at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz for two years, and then worked full time as a computer technician from 2005 through 2010. During this time he managed to take home World Championships in 2005 and 2007, as well as a USDGC Title in 2008. He retired from his computer technician work in 2010 to become a full-time Professional Disc Golfer. Since then he’s continued to amass PDGA Victories, including the 2011 World Championships played in his home town of Santa Cruz, which makes him only the second player in history to have won three World Championship Titles in the Open Men Division.
