Our "huk family" began with Jay and Boojum rolling down the road spreading the word about a new disc golf apparel brand called Huk Lab in 2003. Eventually, our paths crossed on the fairways at the River Bend Disc Golf Course at Milo McIver State Park in 2009. With a shared enthusiasm for disc golf, we ventured out on tour together growing Huk Lab Disc Golf Co. and our huk family along the way.
With 2 year old Rauley and 2 month old Weldon we enjoyed work and play during an extensive 2012 tour season. Leaving Portland, OR and following events down to Austin, TX and back, we stretched the families road legs that season sharing Huk Lab with disc golfers each weekend. Setting up the Huk Lab mobile store while competing in events has given our family the opportunity to travel and connect with the disc golf community on many levels.
Inspired by the "first family of disc golf" Sharon and Leroy Jenkins, our huk fam continues to hit the road each season. Through the years, the disc golf community has provided a sense of home on the road. From PDGA events to exploring new courses, playing Kan Jam or the kids huckin minis with world champions... we look forward to creating more shared experiences with those we meet on and alongside future fairways. This blog will be a way for us share our love for the sport, our love for the disc golf community, and our love for the road.

We tetris all the pieces for a happy huk fam and Huk Lab into our modified Sprinter van nicknamed "Zephyr Zap".
The first huk family trip to The Memorial event at Fountain Hills DGC in 2011. Rauley had to have a picture with the famous fountain.
Rauley (PDGA# 46500) and Weldon (PDGA#58474) warming up our raised sleeping quarters on the Zephyr Zaps first trip in 2013. YES. We all slept up there.

...and Weldon the next year at Whistlers Bend DGC assisting with event scrip.
We often try to tag each other out working the Huk Lab booth so that we're both able to compete at events. Work and play. Jay (PDGA#21464) and I(PDGA#38926) took 1st and 2nd in our respective divisions at our home course event at Pier Park Disc Golf Course.
In 2013 we opened Huk Lab Disc Golf Pro Shop and traveled locally to disc golf events. After a change in property management, the building was torn down in 2015 and our huk fam is back out on the road for events near and far.
Disc golf is an amazing family sport. This July, our family will embark on a Summer Tour to re-connect with the disc golf community in the mountains and the midwest USA. Thank you to all the disc golf families and friends we've met along the way. We look forward to sharing more of our story throughout the season.
